Troubleshooting & Tips

Do not add rotten food, only fresh kitchen scraps. It's okay if it has been sitting for 3 days or so while you are filling your bucket to get to your 3 parts scraps.

White layer on top is normal and expected, this indicates everything is going according to plan.

Check and stir occasionally careful not to allow too much oxygen inside.

If there is a foul smell add more sugar, stir and give a few days before checking again. The solution will smell a little like apple cider vinegar or Kombucha.
